Congratulations to Emily McDonough for earning Athlete of the Month during October.
Emily can be found early each morning at Williamston CrossFit putting in work. Like all athletes that commit to getting better, Emily has improved her strength, stamina, and endurance throughout her time at Williamston CrossFit. She recently has reaped the rewards of her hard work by completing a few double unders, successfully kipping a few pull ups, and lifting more weight over head than she may have thought possible!
Emily's positive attitude, sense of humor, willingness to help others, and her work ethic made her an easy decision for Athlete of the Month. Congratulations.
And now a few words from Emily:
When did you become a member at WC? On Ramp course beginning July 9, 2018
What do you do when you’re not at WC? By day I’m an attorney and by night I’m a wrangler of three crazy kids
When did you realize crossfit is right for you? The first day of the On Ramp course. I was awful but couldn’t wait to come back for more.
What’s your favorite WOD/movement? Back squat
What is your least favorite WOD/movement? It’s a tie between mountain climbers and running. I dread each equally.
What is one thing that you have done at WC that you never thought you would do? A double under
What motivates you during a WOD? Everyone working hard and encouraging each other
What is something about yourself we may not know? I overcame my fear of heights and hiked the Beehive Loop Trail at Acadia National Park in June.
What advice would you give someone just getting started with crossfit? Keep trying, be patient, and watch those that have been doing this for a while
I like coffee.
I eat too many carbs (I love carbs!)
I do yoga.
I am sarcastic.
